How do I use Instagram Highlights to increase boutique sales?
Create a 'Real Customers' Highlight with a 'How to Get Featured' slide pinned first, then link to it from product pages and sizing DMs to answer the #1 online shopping objection.
“The Highlight answers the number one online shopping objection — will this look good on my body.”
Create a dedicated Instagram Highlight titled "Real Customers" or your campaign name. The first slide should be a clear Canva-designed invitation explaining how customers can get featured — this is the slide that gets seen most, so make it an instruction, not just a random customer photo.
The real power of this Highlight is as a conversion tool, not just a content archive. When someone DMs asking about sizing, send them directly to the Highlight: "Check our Real Customers Highlight — Sarah wore that exact top in a size twelve." This answers the number one online shopping objection: will this actually look good on my body? Link to the Highlight from your top-selling product descriptions on Shopify so customers see real photos at the exact moment they're closest to purchasing.
One important caveat: Highlights don't generate their own traffic. You have to actively drive people to them by ending every customer feature caption with something like "See more real customer looks — tap our Highlight in bio." Also add your campaign landing page as the top link in your Instagram bio tool so every post you publish doubles as campaign recruitment.
