How do I set up a post-purchase email that asks customers for UGC photos?
Create an automation in Shopify Flow or Klaviyo that triggers five days after order fulfillment, sending an email with your hashtag and prize mentioned together.
“Manually asking every customer to post is exhausting and inconsistent — it burns out by week two.”
Go to Shopify Admin, then Marketing, then Automations, and click Create automation. Set the trigger to fire five days after an order is marked as fulfilled. This timing is intentional — five days after delivery is when customers are wearing their new piece and feeling excited about it, making them most likely to post.
The email should include your campaign hashtag and the monthly prize in the same sentence, along with clear instructions on how to participate. Something like "Share your look with #StyledByJuniper for a chance to win our monthly fifty-dollar store credit" works well. Include a link to your campaign Highlight or landing page so they can see examples.
The reason automation matters is sustainability. Manually asking every customer to post is exhausting and inconsistent — it burns out by week two. An automated email sends the perfect ask at exactly the right moment, every single time, without requiring you to remember. This is what turns a one-time campaign into an ongoing content engine.
